FENDER STU HAMM URGE II BLACK BASS with HARD CASE
1967 Fender Precision Bass. Somewhat rare as these don't often show up on E Bay. I have seen quite a few 66 P Basses but not 67. Pickguard has small piece missing from the end of it as is often the case with these older guards. There is minimal shrinkage and warpage on the pickguard but still looks very nice. The thumbrest is original as are the pots which are dated 1966 but this is normal for a bass of this vintage since Fender bought a ton of CTS pots in 1966 and used them for years. Also the pickups were not original when I got this so I located a set of Pre CBS black bottom pickups from Jason Lollar that he had rewound to original specs and installed them. This again is correct vintage as Fender was known to use up old stock of these pups as late as 1969. The bridge is original threaded saddle bridge. The neck is original and all attatched parts on it except the nut. The nut has been changed. ALSO the neck is a C width neck as the neck stamping is 5JAN67C. The frets are great as is the decal. The covers are correct vintage and came on the bass when I got it. Body has been refinished in Black Nitro Lacquer and was lightly reliced to show some wear and a few nicks here and there. Plays and sounds great and looks the vintage part. I couldn't say for sure how many screws may or not have been replaced along the way but most look to be original. This is for the player that wants vintage style, correct vintage parts and vintage sound and playability. It is a pretty nice bass. Comes with a non original case but it is a Fender Hardcase with the tail style Fender Logo. I have round wounds on it now but if I were to keep it I planned to put some flatwounds to it for some killer mojo sound! Neck and frets are great with no issues and does not appear to have ever been refinished. So what ya have is a nice vintage Fender with pre cbs pups and a great vintage player that you can actually use! This is a vintage item and is sold as is.
