Fender American Standard Jazz Bass MN Black Electric Bass Guitar
Vintage 1973 Fender Precision Bass w/Road Case
Welcome to another great No Reserve auction from GREENGTRS. Press the play button on the video demo so you can hear this bass being played as you read about it and look at the pictures. I try to point out all the features (and any flaws I can find) and anything else I think is pertinent (never any unpleasant surprises here). Sound and feel is everything to me and anything I'm selling has passed my "blind" test...I don't mind dings, dents, and scratches (or any other cosmetic issues) but I will always go out of my way to point them out (if there are any). I love my "job", am very picky about what I buy, and choose to sell only what I would enjoy playing myself.
Here is a Vintage 1973 Fender Precision Bass (or P-Bass for short) for your consideration. It weighs in at about 9.25 lbs which is pretty comfortable (and on the lighter side) for a 70's Fender Bass. It has Mojo out the Ying-Yang! Some people feel you should not touch an instrument like this (clean-up-wise)...it feels and sounds great, has low action, and you should just let it be....but that said, underneath all the dirt, the original poly gloss finish still exists under a partial covering of shellac...it just needs some elbow grease and some love and it could probably shine right up. If it were mine to keep (as I say in the video), I would probably do that and give it a re-fret and use it for another 37 years! It is obviously missing (most of) the original pickguard and the thumb rest and pickup cover but those are relatively easy to replace if you wanted to. There are a few rusted screws that probably need replacing (the screws on the A string saddle) and there is some slight scratchiness (at about "3") on the tone control. There are no breaks, cracks or structural issues of any kind. If you are looking for a "player" that feels and sounds great (and you don't mind some cosmetic stuff), then this one is a winner! As I also mentioned in the video, this comes with the original bridge cover (also missing the screws) and a custom made Road Case. Note that the price includes shipping (w/full insurance and a signature required delivery) to your door. Well if a picture is worth a thousand words, then the videos are probably equal to a book, so I'll shut up now and let the pictures and video demos tell the story...if I forgot to mention anything that you think is important or if you have any questions, ask away! I can be reached at 727-992-3021.
The video demo was done with the bass plugged straight into a Fender BXR One Hundred amp. There are no effects or anything besides the amp EQ used. Any tonal changes are from the volume and tone controls on the bass, playing dynamics, and/or me blocking the amp/speaker by standing in front of the camera (and the built in mic).
This is (as usual for me) a no games, no hidden reserve, highest bidder wins a great instrument listing. Hit the Buy It Now link to avoid the stress of waiting the auction out if you really want it...it could very well go higher if there are enough interested bidders. Also note that the Buy It Now option will disappear once a bid has been placed. The bass is also available locally so I reserve the right to end the listing early (but once a bid has been placed I will always let it run). Check my feedback as it speaks volumes! Thanks for looking at (and bid to win) this great old Fender Bass!
The Free Shipping offer is via UPS ground service (or sometimes USPS at my discretion) and is for the Continental U.S. only. Insurance coverage for the full winning bid amount IS included. Faster services available at an additional charge. All other States and Territories please email me for a price quote prior to bidding.
I accept credit cards and eChecks (through PayPal). For International sales, the buyer is responsible for any taxes, duties, brokerage fees, or any other charges that your country might impose in Customs. By law I must collect (and turn in) sales tax for all Florida sales. Florida sales tax ranges between 6% to 7.5% depending on the County you live in. The default is set to 7.5% on all eBay sales if you're a Florida resident. I try to only collect what is due for the County I ship to. If for some reason you overpay, please contact me so I can adjust or refund the tax rate accordingly. Local pickup is an option and would have no shipping charges but would be subject to 7% local Pasco County sales tax.
Items will generally ship within 3 business days after the payment has cleared...usually quicker. I will only ship to a PayPal verified address if you are paying through PayPal. I usually use UPS ground service for large items and USPS for smaller items unless buyer requests and pays for an upgraded and faster service. Shipping prices are quoted for the Continental U.S. only. All other States and Territories (and for International sales) please contact me prior to bidding for a shipping quote. I have 12+ years experience in shipping guitars and take great pride in my shipping/packing/handling skills...I personally pack each item and go way above and beyond what the manufacturers do to initially ship them to the stores...check my feedback...I have never had a guitar get damaged during the shipping process. In the (rare) event of shipping damage, please contact myself or the shipper immediately to file a claim. I document (extensively) the condition of the instrument before packing it as well as the box itself with pictures and in some cases video. I will help to expedite the process, but cannot issue a refund until the status of the claim is resolved.
All items are sold "AS-IS" and no warranty is implied (even if the instrument comes with a blank warranty card). All sales are final. All items are as described...I take pride in this...check my feedback as it speaks volumes! I offer a 3 day inspection period/return policy unless noted (and the Return Policy is clearly stated in each listing) so you can put it in your hands but it is subject to a 15% (or more in some cases) re-stocking fee in the event of a return. I always document and photograph all items extensively prior to shipping. Items leave here in the condition described and no refund will be issued unless the item is returned in the same condition. Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges (both ways) in the event of a return and if I included "free shipping" in the listing, you (the buyer) are still responsible for the the actual charges both ways which on average is $40 for electric guitars and $50 for basses or acoustics each way depending on where in the Country it is going and how expensive the item is as the more expensive it is, the more the shipping insurance costs.
I have played guitar for about 35 years now and take pride in choosing great guitars for both playing and collecting. I sold for over 15 years in the biggest and best stores in the nation. I go above and beyond in making happy customers. I'm very picky about what I play, and won't sell anything that I wouldn't use myself. I like to think of myself as a guitar buying/consultation service...especially for those people who don't have a large selection of guitars to choose from. I hand pick what I sell from a huge selection of guitars from many different sources. I do this full time. I pass on hundreds of guitars that don't meet my criteria. I always point out any flaws and underrate so you will never be disappointed. Check my feedback as it speaks volumes!
